Unwanted "donations" piling up

People using charity dropoff sites as unofficial dumping grounds for household garbage are a continuing problem for many non-profit groups.

In most cases, the non-profit group itself has to pay the expense of having the unwanted items collected and hauled away to the nearest landfill. This takes away money that would otherwise go towards the particular program or charity the group supports.
