A former Hawkesbury and District General Hospital doctor charged with first degree murder has been released on bail.

Brian Nadler, 35, of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, was released on $10,000 bail on Monday. As part of his bail conditions, he must remain in Canada and stay at the address of his surety, while he cannot be in contact with hospital staff or patients he treated. His medical license has been suspended.

Nadler was charged with one count of first-degree murder on March 25 over the death of Albert Poidinger, an 89-year-old Pointe-Claire man who was a patient at the hospital. He has maintained his innocence since his arrest, and the charges have not been proven in court.
