The Vankleek Hill Cougars won their last two games convincingly, crushing the Metcalfe Jets 11-1 on Saturday before beating the St-Isidore Eagles 4-2 the following day.

The Cougars got off to a slow start on Saturday as they took a while to find their rhythm in the game. Vankleek Hill caught a couple of penalties early on, but the home team was effective in killing the penalties while the Jets couldn’t get anything going in power play. The Cougars came out the penalty box reenergized, and managed to get some good scoring chances before the end of the period. Justin Chaumont, Joshua Renaud and Nathan Sauvé were especially effective in applying offensive pressure on the Eagles. Jérémy Marcotte and Zachary Bigras also had good scoring chances, but were unable to get the go-ahead goal for their team before the end of the period.

After a scoreless first period, the floodgates opened in the second and the Cougars started piling up goals. The home team completely dominated the rest of the game and the Jets were unable to put up a fight. The Cougars scored five goals in the second period before adding another six goals in the third, crushing the Jets 11-1 in the end. Joshua Renaud scored three goals and an assist and Jérémy Marcotte also scored a hat trick in the victory. Simon Levac scored a goal and got three assists, while Justin Chaumont and Nicholas Campbell got three assists each.

Victory over the Eagles

The Cougars faced the Eagles in St-Isidore the very next day and won the game in convincing fashion, defeating the home team 4-2. Justin Chaumont and Nathan Sauvé each scored a goal and an assist, Joshua Renaud scored two assists, Zack Labbé and Jonathan Campbell each scored a goal and Jake Lalonde, Jérémy Marcotte and Maxim Rozon got an assist apiece in the game.
