Shooting incident in Curran
Two people have been arrested in connection with an incident in Curran during which at least one man was shot.
Gerard Hillier, 40 years old, and Lena Spence, 36 years old, both from Curran, were arrested on July 5 in connection with a firearms incident that occurred in Curran on June 27, in which three people were injured.
Police from the Hawkesbury detachment answered an incident call around midnight June 27. The OPP was called to a residence on County Road 11 near the Village of Curran in Alfred-Plantagenet Township. They found three injured people, including one man who had what appeared to be gunshot wounds. All those injured have now all been discharged from the hospital.
Hillier and Spence were both arrested and charged with three counts of Breach of firearms regulation, one count of Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition and three counts of Unauthorized possession of a firearm, amongst other charges. Investigators seized prohibited and non-prohibited firearms, ammunitions, and prohibited weapons.
They were both released and are scheduled to appear in court in L'Orignal on August 14.
The investigation remains ongoing under the direction of Detective Inspector James Gorry of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Services (FIS).
