Hydro One wind storm warning
Hydro One crews are preparing for possible power outages in Eastern and Central Ontario as high winds are expected tonight and tomorrow.
The power company’s new outage prediction system indicates that a wind storm expected to blow through Southern Ontario this evening will arrive in the eastern and central regions of the province overnight and continue to roar around Friday before moving on.
Hydro One crews are preparing to deal with possible power outages resulting from the high winds. All residents in the regions are advised to take precautions in anticipation of power outages, including stocking emergency supplies, and having battery-powered radios and lights available, and making sure cellphones are fully charged before going to bed tonight.
If there is a power outage phone Hydro One's emergency power outage hotline number at 1-800-434-1235 for updates on how long the outage is expected to last.
