Hefty donation to Rockland food bank
The Knights of Columbus Council 13049 recently donated 350 pounds of food items as well as $500 to the Rockland Food Bank.
“We donate to the food bank every year,” said deputy grand knight Pat Callaghan. “The food items came from a program we organize with our parish, Saint-Edith-Stein and St. Margaret Mary Church in Cumberland, called 40 cans for 40 days.” The program encourages parishioners to bring a canned item every day of lent. The money donated was collected during this year’s scout flea market, held earlier this summer.
