Former Hawkesbury high school teacher arrested for sexual assault
The OPP arrested and charged former Hawkesbury high school teacher, 79-year-old Adrien Asselin, with sexual assault, on November 14, 2018.
The historical sexual assault investigation, conducted by members of the Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit, began in April 2018 when the victim first reported the abuse to police. The sexual abuse occurred in the early 1980s, while the offender was a teacher at a local high school.
Asselin has been charged, as defined in the Criminal Code of Canada of 1983, with Indecent Assault on Male, Acts of Gross Indecency and Sexual Assault. He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in L'Orignal on November 15, 2018.
