Firearms, drugs, seized in Russell
A recent seizure by the members of the Community Street Crime (CSC) Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), resulted in a Russell woman charged with several counts of possession.
On February 13, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau CSC Unit, executed a Search Warrant in the Township of Russell with the assistance of the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU).
Authorities seized four firearms, ammunition, and a small quantity of Percocet (oxycodone) and Hydromorphone pills from the residence. 26-year-old Celine Onat was arrested and charged with possession of a substance (Percocet), possession of a substance (Hydromorphone), four counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and four counts of Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition.
The woman was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L'Orignal on March 6.
The investigation is continuing, one arrest is still pending. The OPP have no concerns for public safety at this time.
