Catch the Ace lottery gives back to the community
Michel Marion was the weekly winner of the Catch the Ace lottery draw, winning $ 859 on Sunday, March 18.
The Kin Club of Russell has been holding its Catch the Ace lottery draw at Étienne Brûlé Brewery in Embrun over the last 27 weeks. The jackpot has now grown to over $16,500. All ticket proceeds go directly back to the Township of Russell. Since its beginning, the draw has raised over $26,000 for the community.
Catch the Ace is the only type of this progressive lottery in Eastern Ontario. Money raised under this current lottery will be used to finance the Russell Reality Tour drug prevention and awareness program, youth sports equipment for the Russell Township Sport Dome, and also to make a donation to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
After Marion’s win with the lottery, his colleagues at NAPA Auto Parts Embrun decided to start using their lottery account to purchase Catch the Ace tickets. The draws are held every Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
Tickets are available at Étienne Brûlé Brewery, Russell Foodland, Pronto Convenience in Russell and at Pierre et Fils in Embrun. Tickets can also be purchased through the Kin Club of Russell at firstname.lastname@example.org or 613-445-6483.
