Boil water notice cancelled
The boil water notice for both the Town of Hawkesbury and Champlain Township is lifted.
The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) announced Wednesday afternoon that the boil water notice issued Dec. 10 for Hawkesbury and later extended to Champlain Township is now cancelled. Water samples from the Hawkesbury drinking water supply system which serves both areas were tested and results show no contamination.
“Residents of Hawkesbury, Vankleek Hill and L’Orignal who are on municipal water can be confident that their water is safe for drinking and for use,” states Dr. Paul Roumeliotis, EOHU Medical Officer of Health.
The EOHU continues to work with the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, and the Town of Hawkesbury to monitor the situation. Further details are at www.eohu.ca and www.hawkesbury.ca.
