Boil water advisory extends to Champlain Township
The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) has extended its original boil water advisory for Hawkesbury to cover both the Town of Hawkesbury and Champlain Township, which includes the villages of Vankleek Hill and L’Orignal.
The original boil water advisory was issued last night following a malfunction at the Hawkesbury water treatment plant which created a decrease in pressure in the drinking water supply system for the areas.
The EOHU urges residents in all three areas to boil their tap water for at least one minute before using it for drinking water. Use only boiled water or bottled water for drinking, food preparation, hand washing, or teeth cleaning until the advisory is lifted.
